Paul John Prucnal

Paul John Prucnal, 84, of Monroeville, PA., left the loving arms of his family and went home to Jesus on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022. Son of Stanley P. Prucnal and Jennie M. (Golec) Prucnal of Johnstown. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia Prucnal and the beloved father of Ann Margaret "Margie" Starr (John), Paul John "Jay" Prucnal Jr. (Sandra), and Mark Douglas (Kelli) Prucnal. He was the adoring “Grampa” of Tommy Starr, Danny Starr, Jeannie Starr, Sammy Starr, Jessie Starr, Mark Prucnal Jr., Shane Prucnal, and Jacek Prucnal. He was the beloved older brother of Pricilla M Harrington (Thomas) of Luray, VA, and the beloved uncle of Patty Reik (San Bruno CA), Donna (Fred) German of Sidney, VA and Sharon Blisick of Powhatan, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughters, Jean Marie Prucnal in 1995 and Mary Elizabeth Webb in 2012. Paul had a BS in Chemistry from St. Francis University and an additional 2 years of study in Organic Chemistry at Ohio State University. He worked for 30 years at PPG Industries in Pittsburgh as a Researcher and 14 years at Anderson Development Company in Adrian Michigan as Manager of Powder Coating Technology. He was awarded 32 US Patents during his employment. Paul was a long-time member of St. Bernadette (Christ the Divine Shepherd) Parish in Monroeville. The greatest loves of Paul’s life were his former wife Pat and his 5 children and 8 grandchildren. His next greatest loves were hiking, and nature and he was an avid outdoorsman from his early teens. His favorite place was the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and he has hiked to nearly every peak. In retirement, he was a 9-year volunteer at Allegheny County’s Boyce Park. Dad was also an inveterate do-it-yourselfer and there was not a project he was hesitant to start. In addition to a life well lived, Dad leaves something much more important behind. He was a walking, breathing embodiment of how to touch the lives of others with simple acts of kindness. He loved Jesus deeply and lived his life seeking out ways to make life a little easier for those he saw struggling. He leaves us with a legacy of love and the perfect example of how to live a life of kindness to others. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 pm on Sunday, November 27th at The GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATION CENTER OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike. There will be Blessing Service at the Funeral Chapel following visitation at 7:30 pm. Interment will be private.
