Patricia Salopek Krecek

Patricia “Patty” Salopek Krecek of Sewickley, PA, passed away unexpectedly, on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at age 60. Patty was beloved by many and will be sorely missed. Patty had an extensive circle of friends, family and her laugh was infectious. She was the most selfless, kind, and generous person. She loved cooking and baking and collected family recipes that she used time and time again. She was famous for the amazing assortment of cookies, cakes, and pies that gave everyone so much joy. Her yellow Lab, Bella, and the dogs she owned previously, were adored as members of her family. Patty was the glue who held the family together. She was meticulous about record keeping and about staying in touch with family members from California to Florida. She knew the family tree by heart and could always explain who was related to whom. She spent three years serving as the primary caregiver for her parents at the end of their lives. She doted on her nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Patty was a trusted member of the administrative staff for the Township of Aleppo. Also served for 22 years in various roles including Executive Director of Verification Audits for Kaplan, Inc. She held a B.S. in business administration and marketing from Robert Morris University. She graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville. Patty was proud to be the Secretary of All About Cats Rescue, Inc. Patty has always had a passion for helping in any way she can, especially when it came to animals. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Robert William Krecek; her brother Richard Salopek (Jennifer); her brother Jon Salopek (Lynn); her sister Kathleen (Salopek) Smith (Skip); her brother-in-law, Jeff Krecek (Jennifer); her sister in law, Kelly Krecek; her nephews Jackson Salopek and Connor Krecek; her nieces Victoria Salopek, Libby Salopek, Katie Krecek, and Cameryn Krecek; her godson Sammy Iovino; and her lifelong best friend Kim Olive Iovino. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Nicklaus Salopek and Mary Sylvester Salopek, both of Monroeville. Family and friends received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at GENE H.
