Patricia M. Gress

On Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, Patricia Mae Gress, went to be with the Lord. Pat lived her Catholic faith deeply, and carried that faith into every interaction through kindness, compassion, and unwavering love. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and for always making others feel warm, safe, and cared for. Incredibly loyal, Pat’s love showed up in the little things. She welcomed everyone into her family with open arms and had the purest heart and kindest soul. She taught all of us how to love fully, laugh often, and live life to the fullest. Even in her final moments, Pat’s generous spirit continued to shine through. Through the gift of organ donation, she offered hope and healing to another family—a beautiful reflection of the selfless love she lived every day. Before that gift was given, the hospital honored her with an honor walk through the halls of UPMC East, a deeply moving tribute to a life marked by compassion, grace, and giving. In one last act of love, Pat made it possible for someone else to have more time, more memories, and more precious moments with the people they hold dear. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earl Heininger and Florence Heininger, and by her brothers, Joseph Heininger and David Heininger. Pat is survived by her husband, Ken Gress, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, Her Sisters, Dolores Law and Marilyn Rusbarsky, her brother, Gerard Heininger and his wife, Joanne, and her sister-in-law, Miriam Heininger. She is also survived by her Children, Julia Miller (Marcus) ,Kimberly Zanella and her husband, Joe, Ken Gress and his wife Dana and Kelly Miles. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Lance Miller and his wife, Chanel, Jake Miller and his wife, Alyson, Alina Hays (Jeremiah), Alex Hays (Veronica), Kevin Gress, Ryan Gress(Caro), Katie Gress and her fiancé, Matthew, Shelby Miles and her fiancé’, Noah, Zach Miles, and Mackenzie Miles (Riley).. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on June 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church in Plum (2000 O’Block Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15239), with a celebration of life to follow at the home of Ken and Dana Gress.
