Michael Carmen Mancini

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Carmen Mancini, 82, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, following a long battle with dementia. Michael, or “Mikey,” as he was affectionately known by his family, was born on July 16, 1944. The only boy in a family of five children, he grew up surrounded by four sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Mancini; his mother, Christine Mancini; his eldest sister, Yvonne Artman; his younger sister, Jacqueline “Jackie,” who passed away just a few short weeks before him; and his beloved nephew, Joe Cristiano. Michael is survived by his wife, Diane. Although they had been separated for more than 20 years, they remained friends throughout the years. He is also survived by his daughter, Nicole, and son-in-law, Jeff; his son, Michael, and his girlfriend, Leah; his beloved granddaughters, Madelyn and Addison; his sisters; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companion, Geno, who held a very special place in his heart. Michael was a man who appreciated the simple and good things in life: great food, great music, sports, family, and friends. A true Pittsburgh sports fan, he loved following his hometown teams and especially enjoyed talking sports with his son and his nephew. Perhaps one of the greatest blessings of Michael’s life was friendship. He had the rare gift of sharing his life with many of the same friends he had known since childhood. Those lifelong friendships meant the world to him. He treasured “the guys,” the years of memories they shared, and the bond that carried them from childhood through every season of life. Above all, Michael loved the people—and animals—who made his life full. He found happiness in good food, good conversation, familiar music, a game on television, time spent with family and friends, and the companionship of his beloved Geno. He did not need life to be complicated to enjoy it. Services will be held Saturday, September 19, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raphael Church in Morningside, followed by military honors and burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow, and the family warmly welcomes friends and family to join them in celebrating Michael’s life. Arrangements entrusted to the GENE H. CORL INC. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Michael’s memory are invited to make a donation to the Erie Humane Society, where his beloved Geno was rescued, or to Toys for Pittsburgh Tikes, an organization close to his daughter Nicole’s heart. Michael—Dad, Mikey, friend—will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
