Kimberlie Kaye (McLaughlin) Pina

Kimberlie Kaye Pina (McLaughlin) was born on April 6th 1964 in Galveston County Texas. All who knew Kim loved her. She was generous, kind, funny, accepting and fair. But she could be stubborn, as she would admit, and would give you her honest opinion without any sugar coating. It was one of the traits that made Kim the unique person she was. Above everything, she fiercely loved her family. Kim will be especially remembered as the biggest cheerleader for her children and grandchildren, always supporting them and encouraging them to aim high and pursue their dreams. That encouragement extended to her husband Aaron as well, leading to a renewed pursuit of playing guitar. Kim and Aaron spent countless hours on the patio with Aaron playing songs she loved on his guitar, with Kim cheering, clapping and singing along. Her’s was a blended family, but none of her kids ever felt like they were anything less than her very own. Kim’s creative talent could be seen throughout her home. Her paintings adorn the walls throughout their home and span many decades and styles as she explored new techniques and subject matter. Every corner of the home is stamped with Kim’s personality and style. The famous craft room in the basement was the scene of countless projects. Most recently she crafted her own cards, decorations and swag for the 25th vow renewal ceremony she celebrated with Aaron and close family just a week prior to her passing. Kim had a love for the beach and water. She and Aaron enjoyed trips to tropical beaches and cruises in the Caribbean. She dreamed of maybe one day living in the Dominican Republic when Aaron retired. Lakes and rivers were just as enjoyable to her and she loved to put a line in the water to fish. She worked for several years to get her backyard garden just right with beds, trellises and fencing. Cooking was a lifelong passion with her love especially of southern and Mexican food. Her binders and baskets full of recipes attest to hundreds of dishes she cooked regularly and many more she planned to try. Kim is survived by her beloved husband Aaron Pina, sons Zachary Alden-Brown (fiancée Tianna Grossenbacher) and Aaron Pina II.; daughter Christina Patillo (Norman); grandchildren Joseph, Jayden, Aaron III, Amelia, Ashton; great grandchildren Mason and Averie; parents Mike and Christa McLaughlin, and Linda Neal; sisters Sherri McLaughlin (Ginger), Kathy Duncan (Keith), Sandra Denton and Joey-Michelle (Tom); brothers Mark Denton (Tammy) and Wilson Orr (Lauren). Also grieving her loss are the Orr family Mike and Lois. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Kim also leaves behind a host of friends that meant the world to her.
