John T. Volosin II

John Thomas Volosin II, of Monroeville, PA, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, April 5, 2026. He was born on August 1, 1957, in Pittsburgh PA to John Thomas and Elizabeth Irene (Puchalik) Volosin. John graduated from Gateway High School in 1975 and not long after, bought his home in Monroeville, where eventually he and his wife raised their family. He was a God loving man and was a proud member of North American Martyrs and St. Bernadette, where he served in the bell choir and taught CCD. He loved camping with his family and the Boy Scouts of America growing up and loved to put on his dancing shoes. He was a hard worker and a loyal friend, who could grill anything to perfection. He was a master diagnostic technician that achieved the “Circle of Excellence” status in typewriter and word processor repair. John was an active member of the American Legion Post 980 in Plum and the Italian American Club in Export. John loved to golf any chance he could, even more so since retiring, and enjoyed having a cold drink at the 19th hole afterwards. He always believed a bad round of golf should be followed by a good round of beers, which he was never afraid to buy. He loved to watch all sports, the stock market, and to listen to music; especially if it was live in concert. He was adept at finding the “Cinderella” team in the NCAA tournament and could find the gold and oil stocks that were on the rise. John found a new love of traveling to fun, new places. One of his favorites places to go was Virginia Beach. He loved to wake up early and watch the sunrise over the shoreline and collect seashells before anyone else got up. He loved to “fight” the waves and swim in the pool. He enjoyed a good laugh and loved beyond words. He was always there for the people he loved and protected them fiercely. He was a wise man that would always give advice to anyone who came to him and will be dearly missed by all. John is survived by his two sons, John Michael (Ashley) Volosin and Andrew Robert (Ashley) Volosin. His brother Stephen (Sharon) Volosin, sister Denise Myers, and his mother Elizabeth (Puchalik) Volosin. His two nieces Victoria (Jonathan) Sale and Lindsay (Tyler) DiBastiani and his great nephew, Matthew DiBastiani. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Cathy Eileen (Starn) Volosin and his father John Thomas Volosin. Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 3 to 8 pm, at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish at St. Bernadette Church, in Monroeville, PA beginning at 11 am. Located at 245 Azalea Drive Monroeville, PA 15146 beginning at 11am. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park.
