Barbara Ann Wisniewski

Barbara Ann Wisniewski, 88, of Plum, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Born May 14, 1936, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles L. Wisniewski; her parents, Orlando and Anna (Manfredo) Pilardi; and her brothers, Richard Pilardi (Cassie) and Ronald Pilardi (Michaelle). She is survived by her loving brothers, Orlando Pilardi (Jackie Weinhold), and Gary Pilardi (Winnie); her devoted children, Dr. Ray (Lori) Wisniewski, Charlene (Rich) Hrivnak, and Rori (Mike) Smith; and her cherished grandchildren, Dr. Hannah (Dr. Colin) Bashaw, Leah Smith, and Richie Hrivnak. Raised in Uptown Pittsburgh alongside her cousins and lifelong friends, Barbara carried a lifelong passion for family and community. Known for her boundless kindness and unwavering support, she was everyone’s biggest fan, earning the role of beloved grandmother not only to her own grandchildren but to countless others who felt her warmth. To her grandchildren and their friends, she was affectionately known as “Baba,” a name that captured her nurturing spirit. A prolific baker, Barbara filled her home with love, crafting cookies and treats for every occasion. At 86 years old, she baked over 220 dozen cookies for her granddaughter Hannah’s wedding, a remarkable gift of joy and love. Her famous banana bars were a universal favorite, delighting family, friends, and neighbors alike. Her generosity, faith, and radiant spirit made her an extraordinary mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Barbara will be reunited with her husband, Charles, in eternal rest. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATION CENTER OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (one block east of Mosside Boulevard, Route 48). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Our Lady of Joy Church. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery.
