Angeline M. (LeDonne) Pisera

Angie passed away on November 5, 2022, peacefully at her home at Beatty Point Village in Monroeville. She is survived by the children she treasured Rocco, Dan, and Christine; also survived by daughter-in-law, Lisa, and son-in-law, Peter, who her love for was no different than the love for her children. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Donna), Diana (Ryan), John, Nina, and Marissa Pisera, and Jason, Natalie, and Trevor (Tarah) Naman; her adored and loved sister Cathy and brother-in-law Sal Farina, her brother Anthony (Lynn) LeDonne, her cousin who was really a brother, Tony (Tina) LeDonne, and brother-in-law Don (Pat) Pisera. She dearly loved her nieces and nephews, Diana, Bill, Susan, Donna, Peter, Debbie, Mark, Maureen, Avrum, Stephen, and Susan. Angie was a talented cook making everything from chicken wings and pizza to gourmet homemade ravioli and cheesecake. She quietly loved watching the Hallmark channel, and very loudly-often yelling at the TV, she loved watching Steeler football. She enjoyed simple rides in the car to get a donut and nothing made her happier than a winning scratch off lottery ticket. She always said that she wanted to win a big jackpot but told her daughter that she knew that with her family, she already had won that. Angie was quiet and devout in her Catholic faith. When she said that she would pray for you, she really did it, often with the rosary that was ever present at her bedside. She was always happy with what she had and with who she was with. She was thoughtful and had an amazing gift of listening quietly and attentively then giving practical yet brilliant advice. She did this especially for her children. The conversations that we all had with her are what will be missed the most. It is impossible to express just how much Angie was loved. She was the heart and strength of her family. She smiled easily, never judged, and befriended everyone she met. At first glance, Angie’s life may have appeared typical, but she was far from typical, with her kind heart making her extraordinary. She actually was quite remarkable. As she lived, she grew constantly reinventing herself along her journey. Angie was born and grew up in Bloomfield to the late Vincent and Mary LeDonne. She graduated from Schenley High School and held various jobs, often telling her daughter about starting her work career at the five and dime. Angie then met Frank A. Pisera, who she was married to for nearly forty years. Frank was the one true love of her life. They loved to laugh, listen to music, share meals, and drink martinis. Next, Angie raised her three children with a kind, caring, and nurturing brilliance. She built a safe, loving home for her family to grow and flourish. Mid-life, she invented herself again by realizing a secret ambition of working in a bank. She began as a teller and rose to manager and became known within the community as “Angie from the bank”. Her easy smile and friendliness made her a favorite of so many. Later in life, she got her favorite job as “Nunnie” to her treasured grandchildren. She could not have loved hearing about and taking part in their young lives more. Angeline lived the last three years of her life at Beatty Point Village in Monroeville, where she yet again reinvented herself and blossomed playing games, learning new things, trying new activities while befriending everyone making them her new friends. Angie was simple and basic and had a natural beauty about her; not fussing with much make-up or fancy clothing with the exceptions of her gem adorned sweatshirts and her bright red lipstick and nail polish, which became a little bit of a trademark. The red lipstick and nail polish she wore until the very end from her hospital bed. Angeline wanted to express her thanks to the caring staff at Beatty Point for their never-ending kindness and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Forbes Hospital for their skill, compassion, and care and who gave her, as she put it, the occasional “tune up” enabling her to live nearly 90 years, which she was proud of. While it is impossible to express just how profoundly Angie will be missed, her beautiful, kind, caring, loving spirit lives on in her family who will never forget how truly blessed they were to have her. Her graceful memory will be forever cherished. NO flowers please. Just make a lasagna, drink a martini, put on some red lipstick, paint your nails red, buy a scratch-off ticket, offer a smile to a stranger or hug someone you love. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9th, at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike. A Blessing Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022, in the funeral home chapel. Interment following in Cross Roads Cemetery.
