Age 89, of Washington Twp., Westmoreland County, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017. She was born on July 9, 1927. Beloved wife of the late S.M. Sgt. Willis D. Hoover. She was preceded in death by her sister Jean Giamarco, brothers Howard L. Walters and John E. Walters and step-son William R. Hoover. She is survived by her beloved son, William D. Hoover (his paramour, Darlene E. Ross); sister Barbara Maderas Ramey; grandson William R. Hoover Jr. and his wife Cheryl; great-grandsons John William and Luke Donald. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Shirley was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, and a past Royal Matron of Corinthian Court #35 Order of the Amaranth. She loved canning, cooking and especially baking everyday of her life and shared it with everyone she met. She was an inspiration and touched the hearts of everyone she met continuously throughout her life. She will be missed by all that knew her. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100), and where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. David Lepley officiating. Interment following in Restland Memorial Park.
