Sandra L. Churik

July 20, 1942 - April 22, 2022

On Friday, April 22,2022, Sandra Churik (Divers) passed quietly at age 79, surrounded by loved ones. Sandra, beloved wife of the late Donald Churik Sr. was the much-loved mother of, Donald Churik, Jr, and wife Deborah; Sharon Bittner and husband Alvin; Allison Stead and husband Thomas; Melissa Cerniglia and husband Samuel. She was the proud, supporting, and loving grandmother to Joshua Churik and wife Heather, Luke Churik and fiancé Jenna, Olivia Cerniglia, Jason Cerniglia, Benjamin Bittner and Alainna Stead, and her great-granddaughter Addison. She was so thrilled about, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grand son Matthew. Sandra is also survived by brother, Skip Divers and sister, Debbie Denson (Kammerer) and many nieces and nephe¬ws. In her younger years she worked as an Executive Assistant at General Electric Headquarters and then as a retail store manager, but following the loss of her husband, her life’s focus became her grandchildren. As a loving mother and grandmother, she was the source of strength for her family, providing guidance, advice, support laughs and love. In recent years, one of Sandy’s favorite activities was being part of “Angels of the Oaks”, an organization that crochets baby hats for NICU and cancer patients at Forbes and Jefferson hospitals. Knowing that she added even a small amount of comfort to the lives of people she would never even meet gave her great joy. She was also a faithful contributor to various charities and in lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that you please place a donation in her honor, to your favorite charity. She will be greatly missed, but we all take great comfort in knowing she is once again reunited in Heaven with the love of her life. A private Blessing Service will be held at the GENE H.
