Renee Victoria Venturella

Renee Victoria “Sister Mary Renee” Venturella, age 84, of Monroeville, formerly of Swissvale, passed away on February 10, 2022. She was the only child of her loving parents, Theresa (Brunetti) and Anthony Venturella. Renee graduated from Seton Hill University. She entered the Sisters of Charity convent and taught music and religion at various schools including St. Anslem in Swissvale. Renee was devoted to her religious life but after her father passed it was necessary for her to leave her order to attend to her mother. In her second career, Renee graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing in 1985. She worked at Forbes Regional Hospital in the orthopedic department, and later as a home/health nurse for Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Her final career move took her back to Seton Hill where she was the Director of their Adult Day Care Center, a state licensed facility for the memory impaired. Renee was a member of North American Martyrs Church in Monroeville and had been residing at Independence Court in Monroeville for four years. The family would like to thank Tammy McElhose and all of the wonderful people at Independence Court for their excellent and compassionate care. The family would also like to thank Ashley Turner and the nurses at Gateway Hospice. Renee is survived by many cousins. Friends will be received Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the GENE H. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish at St. Bernadette Church, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville. (Everyone please meet at the church).
