Patricia G. "Patsy" Hanley

December 11, 2020

Patricia G. “Patsy” Hanley, age 90, was reunited with her Savior on December 11, 2020. She was a kind soul and faithful child of God, dedicated to her Church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at North American Martyrs Church in Monroeville for many years. She was a retired Executive Secretary from Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh and she spoke of her time there often. She belonged to the Women’s Guild, participated in Bridge Club, volunteered at the George Westinghouse Museum in Wilmerding, and volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed meeting with a group of friends that called themselves “The Lunch Bunch” once a month for over 20 years at different venues around Pittsburgh for lunch and friendship. She was a positive spirit, loved her family, was always pleasant, loved to sing, and had an infectious laugh, always lived her life and faith, by doing right, being kind and helping others. Patsy was the daughter of the late Anna (Pieper) and Robert Gainer Sr.; sister of Robert Gainer Jr. (the late Margret) and Richard Gainer (Dee). She was the devoted wife of the late Frank Hanley. Step-mother to Francis Cummings (Peter), William Hanley (Linda), the late Stephen Hanley (Jill) and Patrick Hanley (Lynn); grandmother to Kelly McDevitt (Mike), Alexa Hanley, Candace Hanley, and the late Theresa Hanley; great-grandmother to Anna Kizior (Matt) and also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family that she loved very much. The family would like to thank Harbour Assisted Living and Memory Care for the care that she received and being her family for the last 8 years, and to Caring Hospice in Monroeville for the support and care that they gave her in her final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish at North American Martyrs Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE. www.corlfuneralchapel.com
