Mary E. Salopek Age 85, of Monroeville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018. Beloved wife of John N. Salopek for 57 years; loving mother of Richard (Jennifer), Jon (Lynn), Patty (Bob Krecek), and Dee-Dee (Skip Smith); dedicated grandmother of Jackson, Libby and Victoria. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Celesta Sylvester and sister of the late Vincenza Sylvester; lifelong friend of Connie Leary and dear neighbors from Alpine Village, the Brown and Sheffler families. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and cooking and baking for the holidays and family get-togethers. She worked for several years as a bookkeeper and was a numbers expert. She was a strong believer in the Catholic faith and longtime member of North American Martyrs Church. She will be dearly missed. Friends will be received Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100). Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at North American Martyrs Church.
