Mary C. (Albano) Giuliana, a resident of Redstone Highlands in Murrysville, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side, on February 2, 2021 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent J. Giuliana on February 28, 1998. Mary was born in Springfield, MA on March 20, 1927 to Italian immigrant parents, Immacolata (Daniele) and Giovanni Albano. She was the seventh of eight children and is survived by her youngest brother Thomas Albano (Margaret). Mary leaves her two daughters, Diane Giuliana, Lynne Jack (Robert) and one son, Vincent Giuliana (Kristen); grandchildren, Bryan Jack (Jessica), Melissa Fortin (Nathan), Taylor, Vin and Ben; great-grandchildren, Logan Jack, Hunter Fortin, Xander Fortin and numerous nieces and nephews. After graduating from high school, Mary worked at Spalding Sporting Goods Company in Chicopee Falls, MA before moving on to Westinghouse in Springfield where she met her husband. She left the workforce to raise her children and eventually returned to work at Stop and Shop Grocery. Her husband’s career brought the family to Monroeville, PA in 1972 where she worked at South Jr. High for several years and then eventually as a volunteer at a local food pantry. Mary was very active socially and made numerous good friends while enjoying bowling, golf, and bridge. She was a parishioner of North American Martyrs Church and was active in their Ladies of Charity Ministry. She was also a member of the Monroeville Senior Citizens. Above all, Mary enjoyed her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always up for a rousing game of Scrabble. Amazingly, at the age of 93, Mary got a smartphone for the first time, and quickly mastered texting. Her family was grateful to be able to share beautiful messages with Mary via texting during her last days. Due to Covid restrictions, the viewing will be private. Friends are invited to join the family at a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 8th at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish at North American Martyrs Church in Monroeville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA. 15626. Arrangements entrusted to the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE. www.corlfuneralchapel.com.
