Gertrude B. Camp

Gertrude B. Camp, 83 of Monroeville, PA., entered the arms of God on April 3, 2022. Gertrude was born in Braddock, PA., to Thomas and Gertrude (Mimnaugh) Blasko. After graduating from St. Thomas High School, Gert would work for Westinghouse Research Center in Churchill until retirement. Gert’s life was active with volunteering, hobbies, and fundraising for the Golden Triangle Tamburitzans while her children participated, to involvement with the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as past church council member and the Caring Tree committee. She was the originator of the STC Woman’s Alumni group, a member of the American Sewing Guild and St. Thomas High Alumni committee. Gert’s passions were being wrapped in the comfort of her home sewing enjoying days with her family and reading her Daily Devotionals. Gert’s most special achievement was that “God granted me the gift of Motherhood to 3 special cherubs- whom I always loved dearly, and they produced, and gave me more to love.” Gert is survived by children, Lisa (Jim) Caligiuri, Leslie Hilko (Ron Miller), Ray (Melissa) Hilko and Bill (Theresa) Camp; grandchildren, Joseph Ritchie, Ryan (Emily) Caligiuri, Erin Caligiuri, Jesse Hilko, Brian Camp, Heather (Adam) Walker; great-grandchildren, Evianna Camp and Waylynn Rose Walker; and her beloved sisser, Margaret Ann Craven; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she cherished. Gert was predeceased by her wonderful loving husband of 30 years, William J. Camp. Visitation will be simple per Gert’s wishes. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC, AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4503 Old William Penn Hwy., Monroeville. A private burial will be held in Salisbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Animal Full Life Rescue, 906 Ramsey St., Pittsburgh, PA. 15221, which was very dear to her.
