Eva Matzko

Eva Matzko, formerly a long-time resident of Monroeville, peacefully passed away on January 6th in Rhode Island surrounded by family and loved ones. Born May,16, 1926 she is the widow of George R. Matzko and is survived by her five children, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and all their loved ones. Her oldest son, Mike and Judy Brumfield, Joseph and his wife Rene, Mary and Paul Darak, Suzanne Ferreira, and her youngest son, George; her grandchildren Michael, Rhiannon, Ryan, Kevin, Morgan, Joseph, and Jay; her great-grandchildren, Shayla and Michael; her youngest brother, George and his wife Linda, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Novak and Olga Drahusz and her brother Emil Drahusz (surviving wife, Shirley). She had great happiness seeing and sharing time with her children and (great) grandchildren spread out across the country. She was very involved with the Byzantine Catholic “Church of the Resurrection” while she lived in Monroeville and enjoyed her last years with Mary, Paul and Suzanne who live in Rhode Island. She always had a song to sing and smile to share. Her service will be private, and she will be placed alongside her husband at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in North Versailles.
