William J. Bauer

William J Bauer, 75, of the Bloomfield area of Pittsburgh , passed away on March 1, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, hard work, and unforgettable memories. Born on November 20, 1949, in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Bill had an unstoppable spirit and a knack for seeing value in everything. He was a true entrepreneur at heart, owning and running multiple small businesses and always looking for the next opportunity to bring people together. But if there was one thing that could slow him down-at least for a few hours-it was Pittsburgh sports. A die-hard Steelers and Pirates fan (anything black and gold), Bill never missed a game. Sundays were sacred, spent cheering-sometimes yelling-at the TV or celebrating at the stadium with family and friends. He could rattle off stats like a pro and had an unshakable belief that *this* was always the year for a championship. More than anything, he loved his family. His infectious smile, easy charm, and boundless energy made him the kind of person who could turn a stranger into a friend in no time. Whether he was telling stories, helping someone in need (DIY specialties), or playing with his grandchildren and great grandchild, he had a way of making every moment feel like a celebration. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Margaret (Schwartz). He is survived by his wife Joanne, children Kim, Michelle ( Terence ), Melissa (Dwight), and Matthew (Leah), grandchildren, Carlie (Joseph), Kyle, Andrew (Meredith), Benjamin (Nicholas), and Charles (Elise), August, and Arlo and great grandchild, Italia, siblings, Joseph (Marlene), and Carl (Ginger), and many nieces and nephews. Though he may no longer be with us, his stories, laughter, and the countless lives he touched will keep his spirit alive forever. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8 at GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100); where a service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10am. In true fashion, the family invites everyone to come as they are, share a story, and celebrate a life well-lived. His legacy is simple but powerful: work hard, laugh often, and never pass up the chance to make someone's day a little brighter.
