Thad J. Picklo

Thaddeus Joseph Picklo II of Murrysville, PA, died on July 7, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Johnstown, PA on June 18, 1938, son of the late Thaddeus Joseph and Helen (Malinovsky). Ted, as he was affectionately known, is survived by his loving and devoted wife Carol, their four children Thaddeus (Danielle), Kathleen (Daniel), Theresa, and Deborah (Richard); and, grandsons T.J., Richie, Logan, Alex, and Matthew, Zachary and Ryan. As well as their granddaughters Cassidy (Jacob), Danni, Lindsey, Jessie, Courtney, Halena, Julia, Olivia and great-grandson Caleb. Thad is also survived by his sister Evelym (Picklo) Jerasa. Ted studied at the University of Pittsburgh and began his early career in insurance, which took him around western PA. He was transferred back to Johnstown, where he happened to meet his loving wife of 62+ years, Carol (Sheridan) Picklo. The two would go on to date before Ted asked Carol to marry him in the Knights of Columbus Parking lot, of which he was a member. The two would soon wed and relocate to Pittsburgh, PA where Ted would begin his successful career in advertising. Ted and Carol would go on to have four children. Famously, Ted would pack all four children into the family’s station wagon for extended trips across America. Apart from his love of travel, Ted had a strong love of the arts and was well known for his passion for photography and gardening. Ted was a great man, a man's man, a family man and his legacy lives on through his family. Above all, he loved Jesus. We knew this through his words and, most importantly, his deeds. Ted was steadfast, always there, a consummate family man. An excellent steward of his soul, he loved Jesus. He'll be missed, and his legacy lives on through his family. A funeral service for Ted will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10:30 am at Holy Family- Our Lady of Joy in Plum Borough, PA.
