Peter Mlynar

Peter Mlynar Age 87, of Monroeville, native to East Pittsburgh, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beautiful, loving and unforgettable wife of 37 years Eileen (Kudley), his parents and 7 siblings. He is survived by his sister Rose Diroll and his 6 children: Danelle (Scott) Witon, Renae (the late Bud) Fellner, Peter J, Lori (Tim) Burkhardt, Robert (Shaina), Charlotte (Will) Mlynar. 8 grandkids: Scott and Jeff (Tatar) Witon; Peter W, Gena and Mike Mlynar; Kylee (Dan) Fellner-Gutmann; Dustin and Dakota Burkhardt and 1 great grandson Max Gutmann and soon to be baby Girl Gutmann. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends. Peter was a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer and received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) at Penn State and his Masters of EE at Univ. of Pitt. For 15 years, he was a Manager and Head Design Engineer in the Semiconductor Div. at Westinghouse in Youngwood, held many patents and author of many design handbooks. He was also on the Board of IEEE. In 1969, Peter invented and designed the PJ High Frequency Surge Tester and started his company PJ Electronics. His testers are currently used in 56 countries and to date, his unique technology has never been copied. Pete was a truly remarkable man with great integrity. He was a wonderful provider and stellar role model for his family. He was well respected and admired by all who knew him. He was highly intelligent, supportive, compassionate, genuine, humble and everyone’s “go-to” man for any and all questions. Known for his many red convertible sport cars and for the better part of his life, he enjoyed daily exercise, reading and spending time at his summer home. After his wife passed, he enjoyed traveling globally to cheer on Char in any one of her many marathons. He was “One of a Kind” and will be truly missed. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday July 23 at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100), and where blessing service will be held on Tuesday July 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment following in Grandview Cemetery.
