Mei-Ngor Mavis Chan

Mei-Ngor Mavis Chan was born in Hong Kong on January 9, 1955. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in her junior year at True Light Middle School of Hong Kong. She later enrolled in Alliance Bible Seminary in Cheung Chau, Hong Kong. After she graduated in 1979, she served the Alliance Chinese Church in Hong Kong. In 1989, she moved to the United States and began her ministry with international students in the Pittsburgh area and at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She eventually relocated to Indiana, PA to continue serving the international student community. She was consecrated in 2002 as an official worker of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. As the Director of International Ministries at Indiana Alliance Church, she brought many international students to know and accept Jesus Christ. She had a selfless and caring heart, showing Christ’s love to family and friends alike. She constantly hosted Bible studies and dinners for students and supported them with whatever they needed. She had a burning desire to bring the Gospel to others, regardless of their culture and background. She also brought her mother to accept Jesus Christ. Though she did not have children of her own, she was greatly involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews, both in Hong Kong and in Pittsburgh. She was preceded in death by her father, Ming-Fu Chan; her mother, Yuet-Ying Fung; and her brother, Lap-Wah Chan. She is dearly missed by her older brother Lap-Tak Chan (Wai-Har Annie); nephews Ngok-Fung Edwin Chan, Jonathan Chan, and Gabriel Chan (Melanie); and nieces Ngok-Yan Alice Chan and Joycelyn Laohoo (William). Friends will be received on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC. OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike. The family requests that facial masks are to be worn in the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 23 at the Chinese Alliance Church of Pittsburgh (CACP), 515 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, PA 15145. All donations will be offered to CACP for the Great Commission Fund, or can write a check address to CACP and memo Great Commission Fund. 陳美娥在香港出生于一九五五年一月九曰。 在香港真光中學中四時接受耶穌基督為個人救主。 後來進入香港長州建道神學院進修。一九七九年畢業後，服亊于香港華人宣道會。 一九八九年她移民到美國和開始學生工作。後來由匹茨堡市搬去賓州的印底安娜市継續在國際學生中工作。二零零二年宣道會按立她為女傳道。作為印底安娜市宣道教會的國際學生福音的領導，她帶领很多學生認識甚至接受耶穌基督。 她有一顆無私和闗懷的心，以基督的愛去爱她的家人和朋友。她十分熱心向不同文化和背景的人傳福音。她曾带領迷信的媽媽信主。雖然她獨身，無兒女，但是她深深的闗心她的侄兒姪女，無論是在香港和在匹茨堡市。 父親陳明奎，母親馮月英，長兄陳立華已去世多年了。二哥陳立德和二嫂非常懷念她；還有侄兒萼峯，瀚文，嘉文和侄媳何慧玲；姪女蕚茵，凱恩和姪女婿劉德龍 ,也是非常懷念她們的姑姑。兩歳大的姪孫女，陳樂欣和兩個月大的侄孫兒長大後定想知道他們的姑婆。 追思禮拜將于十月卄三日星期六早上十時卅分在匹兹堡華人宣道教会舉行.
