Margaret Haines

Margaret S. “Marge” Haines Aged 92, of Monroeville, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, after a long illness at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA. Born on the South Side and raised in the East Liberty districts of Pittsburgh, Marge settled in Monroeville following her marriage in 1951 to the late Robert O. Fox, Sr., whom she met while she was working as a payroll clerk at Blaw-Knox Corporation. A devoted wife and mother, Marge also enjoyed a lifelong dedication to volunteer work at Crossroads Presbyterian Church. Rising from Sunday school teacher, and President of the Crossroads Women’s Association, she became the first woman deacon and elder at Crossroads Church, and participated in Presbytery and Synod activities. Marge was an avid gardener and active participant in local AARP group activities. Following the death of her second husband, the late Lawrence H. Haines, Sr. in 2006, Marge moved to Beatty Pointe Village. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Barbara (nee Palley) Bayko; her brother Michael Bayko, Jr., and sisters Marie (Donald) Dance, Barbara (Lee) Orme, and Anne Bayko; her husbands Robert O. Fox, Sr. and Lawrence H. Haines, Sr.; her nephew Michael Bayko, Jr.; her stepson Lawrence H. Haines, Jr. and grandson, Michael R. Haines. She is survived by sons Dr. Robert O. Fox, Jr. (Edgardo Plarisan), Kenneth M. Fox (Scott Bally) and grandchildren Jason R. Fox and Mackenzie F. Fox; nephews and nieces Paul (Melissa) Orme, Donna (Kenneth) Kloes, Donald Dance, Jr., and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is also survived by step children Karen L. (William) Kozikowski, Kevin B. Haines, and daughter-in-law Ann Haines; and Haines grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the GENE H. CORL, INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100). Funeral service 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, PA.
