Joan Paulette (Kroboth) Rolin

Joan Paulette (Kroboth) Rolin, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025. Born on June 11, 1941, in Pittsburgh, she was the beloved daughter of the late Frank John and Josephine Stango Kroboth Jr. Joan was a proud graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania and began her career as a 6th grade teacher in the Moon School District, where she was cherished by her students. She transitioned to the role of homemaker upon the birth of her son, who was her pride and joy. Joan's nurturing spirit and unwavering love made her the surrogate mother to all who entered her home, ensuring they were always well-fed and content. She had a heart of gold. Renowned for her culinary skills, Joan's Italian dishes brought joy to anyone fortunate enough to taste them. Her passion for gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her home, especially her beloved lilacs and the vegetables she grew on her deck, showcasing her nurturing nature. Joan was a woman of many talents, but most importantly, she embodied love and selflessness. Her gentle and kind nature brought comfort and strength to her family, whom she adored above all else. Joan had a unique gift for sending heartfelt cards and notes, always managing to brighten the days of those fortunate enough to receive them. We all eagerly awaited the arrival of her cheerful messages in the mail. Joan is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, John Louis Rolin III; her son, John Shane Rolin and his wife Marianne Rose (Echard) Rolin of Latrobe; her two grandchildren, Mira Rose Rolin and Xavier John Rolin of Latrobe; and her brother, Frank John Kroboth III of Robinson Township. Her dedication to her son was unwavering, and her legacy lives on through him and his family. She was a cherished grandmother to Mira and Xavier, caring for them as they grew up. Those who knew Joan will remember her as the epitome of loving kindness. Her gentle ways and selfless nature left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. She was a beacon of warmth and generosity, always putting others before herself and exemplifying a life filled with grace. As we bid farewell to Joan, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and unconditional love. Her memory will be cherished and honored by all who were privileged to know her.
