Jackie Welch

Jackie Welch, 94, longtime resident of Monroeville, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2025. Jackie lived a life of profound faith and exuded kindness, caring and generosity. She was born on January 2, 1931 in Bangor, Maine to the late John & Marjorie Keenan. Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, William Welch. Jackie was a homemaker devoted to her husband and five children. When the children were all in school, she used her natural sales talents working at Joseph Horne’s Department Store, Kroger, TJMaxx and the Bombay Company. Jackie was well-known in Monroeville as the “Pizza Lady”, making & selling fresh takeout pizzas in the Kroger deli. Jackie was a faithful member of North American Martyrs Church, as well as serving as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher. She was active in the Catholic Daughters of America, the Monroeville Mall Ministry and other volunteer activities. Jackie enjoyed baking (many were blessed with her banana bread and other special treats), home decorating and spending time with children. Jackie was a positive person and a true friend who “never met a stranger”, and had a smile that would light up a room. She was a woman of joy, peace and perseverance and her love for God and others was apparent in all she did for her family, friends, and neighbors. Jackie is survived by her four children, Karen (Bill), Bill (Terri), Michael, and Barbara (Harry), her beloved grandchildren Tony (Laura) and Kayla, and great-granddaughter Sloan. She was preceded in death by her son John in 1997. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at St. Bernadette Church, 245 Azalea Dr, Monroeville, PA with interment following at Twin Valley Memorial Park at Delmont, PA. Viewings will be held at GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100) on Tuesday, April 1 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM.
