Frances "Fran" Kasper

Frances A. “Fran” Kasper of Monroeville, 81, passed on Monday, July 14, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine (Scapellato) & Nick Zumbo and her husband, Henry F. “Hank” Kasper Jr. She is survived by her brother, Nick Zumbo (Madeline), her son James Kasper (Deann), her daughter Lori Johnson (Kurt), and seven grandchildren: Gillian Kasper, Nicholas Kasper, Samantha Johnson, Kaylee Johnson, Erik Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Allison Kasper, and her nieces and nephews. Fran graduated from Clairton High School’s class of ’61 and went on to work in office administration at W.T. Grant Co. It was there she met her husband and married in 1966. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of North American Martyrs Church in Monroeville. When her kids were young, Fran enjoyed many hobbies, including baking, especially cake decorating, and was an avid enthusiast of arts and crafts. She excelled at painting and detailing ceramic molds, which she gave as gifts to family and friends. She also grew and cared for many plants in her home. Fran and Hank took disco dance lessons and practiced in their family room to their kids’ delight. Fran loved playing cards and was a longtime member of both a bridge club and a local women’s club. She later worked in accounting at Philip Miller & Co. for around 20 years. Fran was a breast cancer survivor. Fran had a radiant smile and was truly a gentle, compassionate, and loving soul to all who knew her. She cared and loved deeply. Her family and friends will continue to cherish her memory, but she will be dearly missed. Family and friends will be received Sunday, July 20, from 2 - 6 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100) in Monroeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish at St. Bernadette Church, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville. Entombment following mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
