Anna Mauro

ANNA LOUISE (LEEDS) MAURO Age 87 years, formerly of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, went home peacefully in hospice at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan on Friday, October 5, 2012. She was a resident with her husband at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Troy, Michigan for the past 19 months. She was surrounded by family at the moment of her death. Anna was born on May 5, 1925 in Patton Township, PA to Mary Daisy (Hayes) Leeds and Albert Phillip Leeds. She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband of 70 years, Joseph Mauro, her children Joseph A. and Peggy (Pugsley) Mauro currently of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Dianne N. (Mauro) Seitz McDade, currently of North Jackson, OH; and, Joseph M. and Karen L. (Mauro) Funyak currently of Rochester Hills, MI. Also survived by seven grandchildren, Warren W. Seitz of North Jackson, OH; Jack J. Seitz of North Jackson, OH; Joseph S. and Susan Mauro of London, U.K.; Brad C. and Kristin Mauro of Davis, CA; Omar and Larissa L. (Funyak) Dahroug of Oakland, CA; Timothy D. and Rachel M. (Funyak) Nolan of Pittsburgh, PA; and Jason M. and Mary Beth (Funyak) Donovan of Pittsburgh, PA. Also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Carren Seitz, John Seitz, Mackenzie Mauro, Parker Mauro, Joseph T. Mauro, Brady Mauro, Tate Mauro, and Daniel P. Nolan. Also survived by younger sisters, Rose Marie Lawrence and Wanda Mae Ivanco, in-laws Albert and Audrey Mauro, Eleanor Urick, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Anna loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She was faithfully and unconditionally devoted to her husband and soul mate, Joseph. Anna loved being with people; she was protective and supportive of her family in all things. She was proud of and devoted to her Catholic faith. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling. Friends received at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATION CENTER OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (1 block East of Mosside Blvd.-Rte. 48). Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, Azalea Drive, Monroeville, with Father Tony Gargotta as celebrant. Internment following at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
