Gerald "Jerry" P. Irwin Jr.

Gerald “Jerry” Irwin, Jr., formerly of Monroeville, Pennsylvania who lived in Vero Beach, Florida passed peacefully in his sleep on August 11, 2023, from a sudden heart attack. Jerry was born January 17, 1963, in Pittsburgh and died in Pittsburgh at 60 years of age. He was the son of Gerald Irwin, Sr. who preceded his son in death and his mother, Marlene (Abriola) Irwin. Fortunately, Jerry was on an extended visit spending time with his beloved mother when he passed. The pride and joy of Jerry’s life was his wonderful son, Gerald Irwin, III. Gerry III’s successful real estate career with multiple real estate offices in Pittsburgh and Vero Beach, Florida took him, his family, and extended family to Vero Beach, Florida. Jerry, Jr. sold his landscape business last year to also relocate to Vero Beach to be closer to his son and his son’s family. Gerry III’s Mother, Mrs. Lorie (Fornataro) Cuccaro and Jerry, Jr. had a beautiful co-parenting relationship with their son, Gerry III, and remained dear friends. Besides his son, Gerry III, Jerry Jr. adored his daughter-in-law, Jessica (Mattucci) Irwin. She was more of a daughter than a daughter-in-law to him. Gerry III and Jessica’s three children, Gerry IV, Nora, Lina, and baby #4 William due shortly, gave Jerry Jr. much joy. Jerry, Jr. was amazingly close with his family and friends. Jerry Jr. and his two sisters, Kimberly (Irwin) Marion (husband, Dr. Mark Marion) and Dr. Cynthia (Irwin) McNeil (husband, Darren McNeil) were part of a special “cousin” relationship with his wonderful Aunt’s (Rosemarie Altman) sons, Dr. Daniel (Gina) Altman & Dr. Gregory Altman (Rena); his cousin Linda and her sons, Alfredo & Christopher Sararo. Being from a large Italian family, Jerry Jr. had many other cousins that were special to him as well: Dusty, Arty, Syd, 2 Mikes, Mark, Michele, Clare, Andrea, Dana, Stephanie, etc. The cousins reminisced that Jerry Jr’s famous line was: “What are we going to do fun today?” Jerry Jr. enjoyed life and had no regrets. One of his best attributes was his nonjudgmental loving demeanor. He never had an unkind word about another. With his strong Christian faith, he was unafraid of death for which we are grateful. He is now with his father, Jerry Sr. and our Almighty Father. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 4-9 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike (412-372-2100).
