Our History

The Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel Inc. has been serving area families with  concern and professionalism since its establishment in 1961, by owners Gene H. Corl and his wife Elsie. His daughter, Cheryll Corl Atticks and her husband James E. Atticks joined the firm as licensed funeral directors in 1979. Gene H. Corl, passed away on August 19, 2015, but the Corl legacy lives on through his daughter and son in-law. 

The Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel Inc. values it's reputation for providing the highest quality of professional services. Our Funeral Chapel is a place where the genuine care and comfort of our families is our highest mission. We are proud to carry on the Family Owned and Operated tradition of caring, personalized and dignified services to each family we serve.

The Gene H. Corl Funeral Chapel Inc. is a member of the Order of the Golden Rule, a professional organization of independently-owned and operated funeral homes. OGR is exclusive to funeral homes that adhere to the strictest standards of ethics and service. We are also members of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the Allegheny County Funeral Directors Association.
